The truffles arrived quickly, cleaned and partially sliced, vaccum sealed and in a nicely descrete jiffy-bag, only the dutch post stamp hinting at what it could contain. As I hoped for a longer lasting rather than more intense trip I didn’t bother with the lemon-tek, simply ate them on an empty stomach. They were mostly flavourless except for some unpleasant pockets of bitterness that needed washing down with water. After a 25 minute or so wait, I started to feel quite nauseous, by an hour after I’d eaten the truffles I couldn’t hold them down any longer and vomited the contents of my stomach into the bath. This ended the nausea straight away, and I was left with a slight psychedelic headspace- not tripping balls but a little mindfuck, increased sense of apophenia and vivid colour perception. As someone used to quite high doses of other psychedelics, I was a little underwhelmed by the trip itself. Having said that, for the following week I felt a prolonged sense of calm and peace, the feeling of one-ness one gets after intense acid trips or simply lengthy meditation.
If I wanted a more profound trip, I’d eat more than 15g, but 15g alone for the afterglow is also worth it.
