Ecstasy (XTC) is a pill that is usually a combination of MDMA and amphetamines. MDMA gives a very pleasurable feeling is light and energizing.

Serotonin

MDMA causes a temporary increase of serotonin in the brain. This increases performance and libido. MDMA also suppresses feelings of hunger, thirst and fatigue. The body temperature also warms up. The user experiences a very strong mood of cheerfulness and activity. Furthermore, people often feel a strong love and a strong emotional bond with other users.

History of the use of ecstasy

MDMA exists 100 years! In 1912 it was mentioned in an official document in Germany for the first time. This happened during a research of coagulation enhancing drugs.
In 1960 the first scientific article on MDMA was written. In the ’70s psychiatrists got interested in the effects of MDMA.

From psychiatrist to the dancefloor

Through psychiatry MDMA went to India (Goa). And the festival audience in Goa spread the MDMA to Ibiza. There it was, according to Arno Adelaars, author of the book Ecstasy (Knipscheer, Amsterdam 1991) in the summer of 1986 used during the first public outdoor holiday parties.

From there it went to London where a new, psychedelic computer music cult arose, the acid house. At the first acid house parties XTC was used. From England it spread easily to Belgium and the Netherlands. Since 1988, the drug was banned in our country.

My first truffle experience was absolutely mindblowing. It is quite a challenge to describe it in words but I shall attempt to, because its effect on me was enlightening and revealing in equal measure. It was so profound that caused me to really shift on a deeper level. Many people view psychedelics as an illicit, irresponsible thing to do. However my experiences show this to be very far from the truth. Of course, if they are taken with “true intentions” and in a reasonable manner I fell that everyone can benefit greatly from their use.

I came across the Truffle magic website on a forum and was very intrigued. I had taken magic mushrooms before but never truffles. I read each description with interest and delight. I admit I was a bit suspicious at first, feeling that they would probably not be very strong but I was eager to try them anyway.

Today, three different magic truffle experiences from users from the whole world. The three reviews are about the psilocybe hollandia, psilocybe mexicana and the psilocybe tampanensis, also know as the Philosoper’s stone.

Review 1:
I was very happy with the hollandia truffles. They arrived quickly and in discreet packaging, and were in very good condition. I was forced to store them for 2 weeks at room temperature and they did not lose freshness at all indicating they were very fresh when they arrived. I shared them with two other people (5g each) and still experienced the familiar sensations although there were no visuals or ego-deaths with such a small dose. Next time I will try more for sure.  Thanks a lot for the promotion – next time we buy we will get them from your shop.

Salvia divinorum is a relative of sage, the culinary herb. Usually, salvia is smoked. You get hallucinations of it. The trip is short and intense. Traditionally people chew on the plant. The effects lasts much longer when chewing it. The plant has been used for thousands of years by the Mazatec Indians. Their shamans used the plant to perform religious rituals.

The strongest hallucinogen

The primary active hallucinogenic substance is salvinorin A. This acts on specific receptors in the brains. Salvinorin A is the strongest known natural hallucinogen.

Salvia is often in the same group as other hallucinogens, psychoactive substances, but the effects of salvia are unique. Sometimes salvia is touted as a legal cannabis substitute. However, the effects are completely different.

Requiem for a Dream has become a classical drug film. I specifically remember the rawness of the characters. And the intriguing music. Requiem for a Dream is about different kinds of drug addiction. As a result, the characters are locked in a dream world of disillusionment and despair.

The original book dates from 1978 and was written by Hubert Selby Jr. The film was directed by Darren Aronofsky, and received many awards.

Drugs and addiction

The story is about the lives of different drug users. Mother and son, Sara and Harry Goldfarb, are the main characters. Harry (Jared Leto) is an avid user of heroin. He fills his days with girlfriend Marion (Jennifer Connelly) and buddy Tyrone, with making money to finance their addictions. (more…)

The Netherlands have the most smartshops throughout Europe. A smartshop sells legal psychedelics, stimulants (energizers) and aphrodisiacs. Think of hallucinogenic cacti and various herbs, and seeds such as ephedra and guarana. Until 2008 it was also possible to buy magic mushrooms and salvia.

Hallucinogens differ mutually. Different active substances lead to different psychoactive effects. In the blog about visuals during a trip you were able to read something about it already. Each drug has its own impact on both your body and your mind.Experiences with psychedelics are also personal and depending on your mood at that moment. The following description is based on my own experiences with entheogenic drugs. Trippen: Indiase god omringd door stralen

Een zegelvel Hofmann

LSD (or acid) stands for the molecule Lysergic acid diethylamide. It’s a synthetic substance derived from ergot. Ergot is a mold which appears in cereals. Earlier, ergot was used by midwifes, to stimulate labour. In the late 30′s, a research was started to discover the chemical structures of ergot. Albert Hofmann (a Swiss scientist) accidentally discovered the positive effects of LSD during this research. (more…)
